Peppermint is known for the freshness it brings to our mind and body. It has a cooling and minty flavor due to presence of Menthol in it.

Application of Peppermint Leaves-

As a tea for relaxed-stress free body, better digestion-sleep-focus, relieved bloating-head ache-menstrual cramps: Brew a few dried leaves of peppermint leaves in hot water for 5 minutes. Strain and enjoy. You may add sweetner or additives of your choice.

As a treatment to cold/allergies: Add some peppermint leaves to water. Boil it in steaming kettle or any other steaming device you have. Inhale the peppermint infused steam to treat cold, allergies, etc. Being anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral, it clears out the nasal passage for easy breathing.

As a breath freshener: Brew a few dried leaves of peppermint in hot water for 5 minutes. Cool it down until lukewarm. Swish it into your mouth and spit, thrice everyday or when your breathe turns bad. You can even store it in refrigerator for 3-4 days but always use it once it reaches room temperature.

As a taste enhancer for food items: Add peppermint leaves while you cook your curries or vegetables to enhance their taste. You may even add a few leaves to your fresh juices for infusion purposes, or crushed leaves to pasta while you add seasoning to the sauce.

As face toner: Add some peppermint leaves to water and let it steep for a few hours. Spray it on your face as toner. You can even use cooled peppermint tea (without any sweetener/additives) for this purpose. Store it in refrigerator and use within 2-3 days.

As hair tea: Add some peppermint leaves to water and let it steep for a few hours, or take some cooled peppermint tea (without any sweetener/ additives). Use this to prepare your hair masks or last rinse after shampoo for shiny and mild aromatic hair.

As maceration to oils: Add some dried peppermint leaves to an airtight clean container. Pour the bottle with any carrier oil of your choice. Close it and keep it in warm sun for a week. Use this oil for your hair, face or consumption purposes, as applicable, within 2-3 months.

As aromatherapy- Add a few peppermint leaves to melted wax/ diffusers for aromatherapy.
